A leading family-owned grocery brand was looking for a network and security update for their 77 stores, company headquarters and warehouse. The customer hired WEI to conduct a wireless network assessment to effectively design the right solution.
CHALLENGE
The customer had 10-year old network switches in all 77 stores as well as the headquarter office and warehouse. Support for these switches were approaching end of life, driving the need for a quick turnaround from the WEI team. The customer also need implementation help for a new security application, requiring a server to be installed in each of the 77 stores.
SOLUTION
WEI designed a custom solution consisting of HPE/Aruba solutions amounting to 80 fully configured servers and 197 switches. WEI's project management and network engineering teams managed the full deployment with best-in-class rollout and implementation services for all 77 stores during off hours (overnight) to minimize the impact to end customers.
OUTCOME
WEI was able to complete the project on time and within budget. In fact, WEI presented the most cost-effective option for the customer by coupling the server and switches upgrade into one strategic effort. The initial wireless network assessment also uncovered a need for a new wireless solution for the customer's new office space, their warehouse voice-picking system, and an in-store technology refresh.
