Leslie Rosas:

Innovation at WEI is something that is at the core of our business and of our value system. From its inception with four employees to our current status of over 100 employees, we have always valued in-house innovation as a way to create an efficiency across the company.

The emphasis that we place on innovation with our clients creates a unique opportunity for our employees. Employees who are working on unique projects with these customers have a perspective of what they could use to do their job better and more efficiently.

Belisaro Rosas:

We innovate in-house, and it's very important for us because it helps our team deliver the best in class service. A few examples of our custom apps are the Build-A-Cab, the SmartIT Tag, the WEI app, the visitor Sign-in app, the Room Reservation app. But all of these improve our internal processes and our customers' processes.

Julian Garcia:

Innovation at WEI, it is really important for us. We use that with our internal group of development. It's the way that we apply that technology into the different platforms that we develop applications for. Like for example, for the Sign-in application that we have in-house was developed for Apple. And that's an Apple native application. We also have applications that we develop for Android that we use in the warehouse.

So the Sign-in application is something that we developed in-house to innovate the way that we were registering people when they came in through the door. The way that it works is that people can utilize an iPad, and on the iPad they will enter the information. And when they are done, they will print a personalized label that they will use on the time of their visit.

Cynthia M.:

The application makes the sign-in process fast, efficient, and seamless. Once the visitor signs in, an email is sent out to the employee letting them know that their visitor is here.

Julian Garcia:

It allows us to do several different things. For example, we can pre-sign visitors that they don't need to come in and spend time at the door when they have large events. It allows us also to have the visitors, when they re-sign in because it's the second time that they are visiting, they only need to input some personal information, like it could be their phone number or the cell phone numbers or the email address in order to be able to sign in and collect all of that information again.

Cynthia M.:

The Sign-in application is a great first impression. Our visitors really enjoy using technology as soon as they enter the building.

WEI developed the SmartIT Tag as a differentiator from our competitors. What we realized is the data centers in the campuses of our customers are filled with so many devices that keeping track of those assets is problematic. So every device that WEI integrates here, sells out to our customers, has a small data matrix sticker about one centimeter by one centimeter. That information in there is the part number, the serial number, any other pertinent information the customer would want at that time. They simply read it with a phone or a barcode reader and it tells them everything they need to know. In-house, for instance, when we use it here, we use it for quality control checks. That data's available to us as well. So just before we package up the box or ship it out, our QC checks that data matrix against our service order to make sure it's configured and laid out exactly how the customer asked, to make sure it's going to the right location and the right person. That's how we use it in-house. The customer, there's unlimited ways you could use that data matrix sticker on the front of the bezel.

The WEI SmartIT Tag is a good example of WEI innovation. We're constantly thinking of the customer's needs, what can make the entire process or product better for them. Large rollouts, special deployments, asset tracking, customized portals and quality control checks, these are all things that customers are thinking about. Operational concerns are a reality in the IT world today. This makes all those concerns very much easier to handle.

Dave Fafel:

WEI app development is designing tools to solve customer-specific problems. These are typically unique problems for which an off-the-shelf software package won't solve. We're understanding what our customers' problems are and then designing tools to solve those problems or to complement other tools that they have in their environment today.

Leslie Rosas:

One thing that we have a clear understanding on is that there's no one solution that fits all companies. Clients come to us because they know that we will take the time to understand their environment, their needs, and then we have a unique opportunity to go in and create a custom solution for them. That's something that you don't find in the market today.

Belisaro Rosas:

By listening to our customers and being true partners, we'll continue to innovate together.
